Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Rachael Nelson, a Florida-licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist based in St. Petersburg and serving the Tampa Bay area.
I specialize in evaluating and treating children from birth to 18 years old with:
Articulation disorders
Childhood Apraxia of Speech
Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders
Social communication challenges
Feeding difficulties
I also have experience supporting children with:

Before founding Find My Voice Therapy Services, I worked in prescribed pediatric extended care (PPEC), home health, schools, daycares, and private practice. These experiences shaped my mission: to ensure each child receives the individualized care they deserve — not just as a client, but as a whole person.
In therapy, I use a variety of evidence-based strategies delivered through a child-led, play-based approach. I believe that connection, trust, and fun are key to communication growth.
I truly love what I do — helping children find their voice and empowering families to feel confident in their child’s communication journey.

When I’m not in therapy sessions, you’ll usually find me running at North Shore Park or training for my next race, spending time in our backyard with my husband and our rescue cat, or exploring local coffee shops and restaurants around St. Pete. I love spending time with family, getting lost in a good book, and soaking up the Florida sunshine. I believe therapy should be fun, flexible, and focused on what matters most — helping kids feel confident, capable, and understood.

Rachel was the answer to our prayers!
Our now 2 1/2 year old son, is super intelligent. And even though not on high alert quite yet, at 2, we knew the delay in his speech was something we were determined to get ahead of.
He wasn’t even trying (or so it seemed at the time - we later learned he was just frustrated like us).
We started to do our research and take action, but the beginning was pretty discouraging. He was not accepted to early steps and didn’t do well with zoom therapy. We bought courses, books, etc. But it all seemed to lead us right back to the same place..the beginning.
On another “late night anxiety can’t sleep session” I happened to see Rachel’s post on my Local Moms Facebook Group.
Fast forward 5 months and he is trying to verbalize everything! He says so many words and is even starting to put words together! We now know where he was deficient and have a solid game plan we all feel good about and understand.
Each week we have fun homework and exercises that even he loves which is the best part! The way Rachel teaches is FUN and the way she breaks everything down for us to understand is awesome!
