Frequently Asked Questions

  • Speech therapy helps individuals improve their communication skills. It is provided by a speech-language pathologist and may involve a range of activities and exercises to improve speech, language, and/or swallowing skills.

  • Children of all ages can benefit from speech therapy. It can be helpful for individuals with speech and language delays or disorders, as well as those who have difficulty swallowing or voice disorders.

  • Here are some signs that your child may benefit from speech therapy:

    1. Difficulty with articulation: If your child has trouble producing certain sounds or is hard to understand when they speak, they may benefit from speech therapy.

    2. Delays in language development: Children typically follow a predictable timeline for language development. If your child is significantly behind their peers in their ability to understand and use language, they may benefit from speech therapy.

    3. Struggles with social communication: Children with social communication difficulties may have trouble initiating or maintaining conversations, understanding social cues, or using appropriate body language.

    4. Stuttering: If your child has trouble with the fluency of their speech, such as repeating sounds or words or having long pauses in their speech, they may benefit from speech therapy.

    5. Difficulty with swallowing: If your child has trouble swallowing or has recurrent episodes of choking or coughing during meals, they may benefit from speech therapy.

If you are concerned about your child's communication skills or have noticed any of the above issues, contact us today to schedule a free screening.
